 Seasonal Residency Requirements

The term “seasonal resident” refers to any person who temporarily resides in the state of Florida for at least 31 consecutive days in each calendar year, maintains a temporary residence in this state, returns to the state or jurisdiction of their residence at least one time during each calendar year, and is registered to vote or pays income tax in another state or jurisdiction. While Florida residents are required to provide a copy of their driver’s license or other state-approved forms of identification, seasonal residents may submit a copy of two of the following that shows proof of residential address:

  • A residential rental or lease agreement, deed, or monthly mortgage statement

  • A utility hook-up or work order dated within 60 days before registration in the medical use registry

  • A utility bill, not more than 60 days old

  • Mail from a financial institution, including checking, savings, or investment account statements, not more than 60 days old

  • Mail from a government agency, federal, state, county, or municipal government agency, not more than 60 days old

  • Any other documentation that provides proof of residential address as determined by department rule

 Medical Marijuana Card Status Check

Florida medical marijuana clinic patients also have the ability to check the status of their medical marijuana card online at The Office of Medical Marijuana Use also known as the MMU Registry.  Patients can contact The Office of Medical Marijuana Use via phone call at 800-808-9580 or by email at medicalmarijuanause@flhealth.gov.  Florida medical marijuana treatment patients will need to provide The Office of Medical Marijuana Use with their full legal name, patient ID number, date of birth and social security number when calling over the phone.

  • Yes, but they must be your legal representative or caregiver. If you require assistance, you may assign a caregiver who can pick up, carry, and administer the medical marijuana medication for you. To become a caregiver, you must meet certain criteria regulated by the state.

  • You should expect a 5-10 business day medical card application and processing time frame. Once you receive your temporary Florida med card from the state via email you can walk into any medical marijuana dispensary within the state of Florida. You will receive the physical card about 10-15 business days after your visit.
